Altneuland

Tel Aviv is an enigma that contains a paradox. On the one hand, it is viewed by Israelis as an elitist and arrogant “bubble”. On the other hand, the same people also see it as a utopian model that should be emulated. In our political, social and political space, Tel Aviv-Yafo is an “Island”.

In my work, I have chosen to isolate Tel Aviv-Yafo from the map of Israel. An island painted in gold, as a tribute to the flag of the seven golden stars designed and cultivated by Herzl himself, for the future “Jewish State”. Following the exhibition, the work was presented and sold at a number of events in Israel and around the world.

The work “Altneuland” was created as part of a group exhibition of “La Culture“, which focused on the subject of “Islands“.
