The Middle East

What are the messages hidden within the logos of daily Middle Eastern newspapers? A branding study, which I conducted during my MA studies, found a striking similarity between different newspapers from different countries.

The daily newspaper is, perhaps, one of the most powerful and oldest marketing mediums in the world to convey political and political messages. In my research, I tried to understand whether the content and agendas, which are published in daily newspapers, are also reflected in their logos. In this project, I chose to focus on five countries that surround the State of Israel: Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority.

I researched over 40 daily newspaper logos. First of all, it was interesting to explore the messages that appear through graphical images in logos. Messages like hope, sunrise, or peace. But it was surprising to find out, after conducting a cross-referencing of information, that in different countries, quite a few names and messages are exactly the same.
