Concerned
Citizen

In any work with a client, especially when it’s a personal project, his work enters your heart. Usually also him. Can not do it otherwise. Last summer, the talented director Idan Hagoel approached me to design the logo and titles for his film “Concerned Citizen”. It is a film that grabs you from the first moment, and deals with many important and sensitive issues. As inspiration Idan brought Stanley Kubrick with him, and I the large typography installations of Barbara Kruger. Very quickly the chemistry and a dynamic atmosphere was created, which allowed me to “play” (within a strict grid system and rules I created) in the slides of the film.


“Concerned Citizen” has been accepted to the Berlin Film Festival 2022 as part of the prestigious “Panorama” award. Last month at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2022, Idan Hagoel won the best screenplay award and the original music award, and if all this is not enough, then recently the film was sold for distribution in 20 countries, and to HBO television network. I was honored to take part in this creation, thank you Idan.

בכל עבודה עם לקוח, בטח כשזה פרויקט אישי, היצירה שלו נכנסת לך ללב. בדרך כלל גם הוא. לא יכול אחרת. בקיץ שעבר, פנה אלי הבמאי המוכשר עידן חגואל לעצב לו את הלוגו והכתוביות לסרט ״אזרח מודאג״. זה סרט שתופס אותך מהרגע הראשון, ושנוגע בהרבה נושאים טעונים, חשובים ורגישים. עידן הביא איתו כהשראה גרפית את סטנלי קובריק, ואני את מיצבי הטיפוגרפיה הגדולים של ברברה קרוגר. דיי מהר נוצרה כימיה ודינמיקה כזו, שאפשרה לי לשחק כאהבת נפשי (בתוך הגריד הקשוח שיצרתי) בשקופיות של הסרט.

 

״אזרח מודאג״ התקבל מאז לפסטיבל ברלין 2022 למסגרת ה״פנורמה״ היוקרתית. בחודש שעבר, בפסטיבל הסרטים ירושלים 2022, עידן חגואל זכה בפרס התסריט ובפרס המוסיקה המקורית, ואם כל זה לא מספיק, אז לאחרונה הסרט נמכר להפצה ב20 מדינות, ולרשת HBO. מרגש. היה לי לכבוד לקחת חלק ביצירה הזו, תודה לך עידן.
