A Warming Welcome
Illustration week 2021
A new exhibition as part of Tel Aviv 2021 Illustration Week presents messages of hope, solidarity, compassion and optimism. The exhibition “Kind Words”, curated by Tom Kohen, presents nostalgic posters from the historical collection of the Shenkar Center for Research and Documentation of Design in Israel, and 15 new posters created especially for the exhibition by illustrators and designers, who were asked to create new works with optimistic messages. The exhibition presents a picture of optimism and hope, as it emerges from the complex reality in which we live.
תערוכה במסגרת שבוע האיור של תל אביב 2021 מציגה מסרים של תקווה, סולידריות, חמלה ואופטימיות, בכרזות חיוביות ומרוממות רוח. התערוכה ״מילים טובות״, שאצרה תום כהן, מציגה כרזות נוסטלגיות מתוך האוסף ההיסטורי של מרכז שנקר לחקר ולתיעוד העיצוב בישראל, וכרזות שנוצרו במיוחד לרגל התערוכה, על ידי 15 מאיירות ומאיירים, מעצבות ומעצבים, שנתבקשו ליצור כרזות חדשות עם מסרים אופטימיים לעתיד טוב יותר (מציאותי או מדומיין). התערוכה, ביוזמת המרכז לחקר ולתיעוד העיצוב בישראל, מציגה תמונה של אופטימיות ותקווה, כפי שהיא מצטיירת מתוך המרחב המורכב שבו אנו חיים.

A blue world. A planet of water. Without continents or land, no life. This is how our future will look if the nations and citizens of the world will not undergo radical change. It is literally a warm – and very sad – welcome

קבלת פנים חמה
עולם כחול. כוכב של מים. ככה יראה העתיד שלנו אם מדינות, ואזרחי העולם לא ישתנו באופן רדיקלי. זוהי קבלת פנים חמה לעתיד שלנו, תרתי משמע.
